Jump King is one of my favourite games ever. The only genre I can think to describe it is "foddy-like", which is admittedly not untrue, but it misses a lot of the things that make Jump King so much better than Getting Over It.

Jump King, unlike most games it is similar to, is not a rage game. This is not to say you won't get mad at it. You will. But the game does not exist for the sole purpose of angering you. The controls are difficult to get used to, but not imprecise or unwieldy. The level design, though challenging, hides no secrets from you.

Ultimately, Jump King is not a game about anger. It's a game about patience. While you will fall often, fall far, and fall hard, you need to keep your cool. Getting tilted will only make you play worse, which will make you fall even harder. You just need to get back up, dust yourself off, and start jumping back up.

And honestly, I think that's a lesson we all need to learn.
